As part of the mix, sure. There’s no question that our personal data has value, and it’s absurd that we aren’t in control of/compensated for that value. But a data dividend can only be part of the picture in an automated world, since it is likely to miss many thousands of lower-income, elderly, and/or very young residents of any particular state. UBI, tagged to a Social Security number, still seems to have the broadest reach, and I would be happy to see both ideas working in tandem.
